Your Teacher

  Jan Springer

A little about me...

Jan Springer had a guitar in her hand at age 9, and has not put it down since.  With dedicated instructors leading her, she studied all aspects of the instrument through musicianship and technique and was teaching students herself at the ripe old age of 12 and was playing in a rock band by middle school.   She studied classical guitar performance under Sam Guarnaccia at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music and received numerous awards for instrumental solo competitions at GMA’s Praise in the Rockies.   For 30+ years Jan has been a worship leader and music director, inspiring people to use their musical gifts to create their own expressions of worship.  The genre styles that are in her wheelhouse include americana folk, bluegrass, classical, with some blues, jazz and rock thrown in.  Jan has worked with Orchard Creek Band, creating eclectic and imaginative bluegrass, and now currently freelances as a singer, guitarist and songwriter. Jan’s love and partner in life is her husband David.  You can find them looking for streams and lakes to fly fish.  Her 3 children all share a love of music and have been caught every once in awhile playing their instruments and singing together (often a choral "happy birthday.")  That is her happy place.

Jan's teaching style is laid back and encouraging.  She will be your biggest fan!
